Timothy J. Gibbons is the retired Practice Leader of Valuation and Forensic Services at Brown, Edwards & Company, L.L.P. He has provided valuation and financial advisory services for numerous purposes including estate and gift taxation, mergers and acquisitions, buy/sell agreements, corporate and strategic planning, ESOPs, shareholder disputes, marital dissolutions, and other tax,  litigation, and corporate related matters.


Mr. Gibbons’ experience includes business valuations of entities in numerous industries including manufacturing, wholesale/distribution, energy, retail, construction, healthcare services, professional services, food service, and holding company/estate planning vehicles. Mr. Gibbons has also provided litigation support services related to business valuations, shareholder disputes, marital dissolution, wage impairment, lost profits in connection with business interruption, and other business matters.


Effective January 1, 2018, Gibbons & Kawash, a firm co-founded by Mr. Gibbons in 1992, merged with Brown, Edwards & Company, L.L.P. Prior to co-founding Gibbons & Kawash, Mr. Gibbons co-founded a predecessor firm in 1982 and was a supervisor at Main Hurdman (now KPMG) from 1979 through 1982.


Mr. Gibbons is a member and past president of the Charleston Rotary Club and has served on the boards of the Charleston Regional Chamber of Commerce, West Virginia Symphony, Berry Hills Country Club, United Way of Kanawha Valley, and the Boy Scouts of America-Buckskin Council. He has served as chairman of the Boy Scout Leadership Gifts Dinner and former member of the finance committee of Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral.
